And by the way, this is why there is so much focus in science on reducing everything to its simplest possible explanation: because the fewer steps there are in your logical sequence, the less chance there is that one of these steps will be wrong, and bring everything else down with it. This doesn’t mean that complex arguments can’t exist, obviously; but needlessly complex arguments are almost always wrong, because they are usually masking a hidden flaw somewhere along the line (which may well be unknown to the person putting forward the argument, actually, which is why they find themselves entangled in convoluted logic). As Einstein said: if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.
